Can i have wine or any kind of alcohol during breastfeeding?

My baby is 2 months old.. when can i have alcohol or which kind of alcohol can i take.?

You can. Very, very little, if any, goes into your milk. I think it's something like the equivalent of 25ml vodka in 8000 litres of mixer at the highest concentration found? That was after several drinks from what I remember of the study. I would have a glass or two after putting baby down for the night at 7pm (I didn't start drinking until we had at least 4 hour gap between feeds at night), as the very earliest he would wake for a feed would be 11pm. I didn't do it every night but just one or two nights a week made me feel more human! As he got older, I may have had a glass with a meal with no feeding gaps. My doctor saw it as a none issue and actually suggested wine to relax. He said the liver processses it out before it goes in your milk unless you are drinking a lot. He said alcohol is not recommended purely because it raises the risk of infant death if you co sleep- basically, drunk mom accidentally suffocating baby. It has nothing to do with how much goes into breast milk if you drink in moderation. I didn't co sleep so didn't have to worry.

I wouldn't but they have testers at Walmart to see if alcohol is still in your system before feeding baby in the baby aisle

If you do drink , there are places that sell strips that you'll test your breastmilk on to see if it have any alcohol in it.

When my baby was two months I only drank 1-2 glasses of wine then waited 2 hours to nurse her. I read that if you aren't feeling the effects of the alcohol it is okay to nurse as well. I also read you shouldn't drink alcohol till after 3 months or so bc their liver is stronger , just in case some is passed in the breast milk .

I've read 1 glass is fine but if ur having more to pump and dump. That's what I go by.
