Out of town IVF ! Has anyone used an out of town doctor?

Hi ladies,  have any of You used a doctor that was not in your same city? My first cycle ever is coming up and my clinic is out of town! What are the logistics, time tables etc that you found helpful, did or wished you would have done?

We started with a clinic in-state, but decided to go out of state and to a clinic where we felt more comfortable and liked the team more. Sometimes it's worth a little driving inconvenience for such a big reward.

How far away is it? Can you do the drive back and forth easily? I have a friend who did her IVF in another city and she couldn't easily go back and forth so she spent about two weeks prior to egg retrieval there so she could go in for bloodwork/ultrasound every day and be ready for the retrieval. After the retrieval she spent one more night and then went back home.
