Finally some answers!

Brandi

Husband and I have been trying unsuccessfully for the past five years. During which time we gone through four <a href="https://glowing.com/glow-fertility-program">IUI</a>'s, countless pills and a few shots.  I finally got fed up with my specialist (who was highly rated) and reached out to my primary care Dr for a recommendation.

My initial visit was great - Dr has great bedside manner - he listened to my whole story and asked me if I had ever been check from Endo. When I told him no, he seemed quite surprised.  He said that with my self reporting sever back pain during my cycles and painful intercourse, that this should have been one of the first questions asked. Nevertheless, he did a pelvic exam checking my uterolsecral ligament (USLE) and I nearly flew off the table due to the pain.  After a second check, for which I was more prepared, he said that I most definitely had endo, possibly a moderate to sever case.  My Dr suggested a laparoscopy and hysteroscopy to remove endo to check my uterus for any additional issues.  After about three days of research, I decided to schedule the surgery.

Two weeks later (2/23/17) I arrived at the surgical center for my procedure.  I was both excited and nervous. The hardest part of the whole thing was the initial IV. I'm not great with needles, but the nurse gave me a bit of lidocaine to numb the area, so I didn't feel a thing!

The procedure took about an hour in total with an additional 30 minutes to wake up from the general anestesia.  Once I was awake enough to speak with the Dr, he stopped in to provide me with about 16 photos and a full report.  As expected, I had a moderate case of endo for which they removed about 75+ spots. I also had a single fibroid which was found on my uterus, he removed this as well.

The best news of all, the Dr said I was fit as a fiddle and would be surprised if I didn't get pregnant within the next six months!  I have a follow up visit in a few weeks, but I currently feel pretty good. I'm on a small dose of pain killer and anticipate being laid out for the next few days.  As expected, the pain is mostly located in my abdomen.  I would say that it feels like I did way too many sit-ups and that the muscles are really fatigued.  Now I'm just waiting for the OK from the Dr to begin trying again ... here's hoping this is our year!
