IVF rejected on NHS?

Hi guys, just curious...my SO has a 16 year old son from a previous relationship (big age gap between us), would we be declined funding on the NHS for IVF? I have no children of my own...thanks in advance 😘

Like eveyone says it depends on your local area I think. But I know someone who already has a child and has been put on the waiting list for ivf! So obviously it can happen! It's such a shitty postcode lottery thing, but at least there's some hope and availability! Good luck 💖💖💖

Hi! I’m in the same boat as you and I did a search on glow to see if anyone else was going through the same thing. 
Absolutely gutted when I found out we wouldn’t be offered IVF on the nhs because of my boyfriends daughter. I’ve come to terms with it but I’m still so gutted. Anyway, I have been referred to the hospital (by a doctor who didn’t even ask if my boyfriend had a child) but I’m s*** scared that they will turn around and say that I won’t qualify for any treatment at all. Will they still do all the tests etc? Or will they say that I won’t be eligible for any kind of treatment whatsoever? What was your experience? Any help or advise would be much appreciated, I’m pulling my hair out here! Xxx

Hi Aimee, what area do you live in? I was rejected for it when I was in the same situation, and now the area I live in won't even fund any fertility treatment! I hope your in a better area, lots of luck to you 💫

Hi Amy. Yes I think that you probably would unfortunately. Each PCT has its own guidelines though so I would check what your PCT's guidelines are, you can usually find them online. Good luck Hun xx

If the child is not living with you and you've had no children then yes - it could be funded through the NHS, provided you meet the other criteria x

Sadly Aimee I don't think you would be eligible , it may be different criteria in your area though so always worth a try xx
